Even though the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development does have parts of I-10 still closed in Lake Charles, many people have chosen to go that way.

Because so many people are trying to go to Calcasieu and Cameron Parishes, the Interstate is jammed with traffic.

The traffic is making it extremely difficult for first responders, electricity workers and the like to get to the various situations to help.

Lake Charles Mayor Nick Hunter is reminding people, if you go, understand you need to do a "look and leave" because there is no place to get food, gas or other services. There are multiple areas that do not have water service.

Here is what is closed from LSP:

I-10 Both Directions from Lake Charles (30) to Ryan Street (28) . All Lanes Closed.

Closure on I-10 Both Directions from Ryan Street (31) to Westlake (LA-378) (28) . All Lanes Closed.

Closure on I-10 Both Directions from Lake Charles (35) to PPG Drive (25) . All Lanes Closed.

Closure on ramp from I-210 Westbound to I-10 Eastbound (25) . All Lanes Closed.
