I-49 Closed Due To A Crash Involving A Motorcycle

Southbound lanes of I-49 are closed after a crash involving a motorcycle. Drivers tell KPEL News that traffic is being diverted to University Avenue via West Pont Des Mouton. The driver of the motorcycle is in critical condition at a local hospital. The identity of the driver has not been identified. No other information about the crash has been released at this time.

The Lafayette Police Department is currently working a major traffic crash near the intersection of Interstate 49 and Interstate 10.

The southbound lanes starting at the intersection of Pont Des Mouton Rd and Interstate 49 are closed.
