Saturday Night

This Saturday night is officially "Daylight Savings Time". It's that time of year when we grumble and gripe about "losing sleep" when we should actually be more concerned about being one hour closer to death ( Because it puts the whole "losing sleep" thing into perspective).  Before you go to bed Saturday night, set your clock forward one hour, then on Sunday morning, fix all the clocks you forgot you had Sunday night. If you have a smartphone, it should take care of the process for you (But I've had at least one occasion where it didn't until the phone was shut completely off).

Enough About The Time

The real holiday this weekend is..."Mario Day". Yes, everybody's favorite little block-jumping plumber has his own special day, and for a very odd, but very cool reason. Somewhere along the line, someone noticed that the abbreviation for March 10 looks like "Mario". Let's try it right now:  Mar10. Okay, I guess if you squint your eyes just right and forget the space between Mar and 10 it does look a little bit like Mario.

More On Mario

If I asked most of you when Mario came into your life, your answer would probably be about 1988 when it was on that combo cart with Duck Hunt for your Nintendo. The truth is, Mario was around since 1981 in the arcades, then on other game systems, finally ending up on your N.E.S. Of course, some of you didn't even get with Mario until the Super Nintendo came out in 1991 with the game "Super Mario World" (and others). No matter your entry point, we hope you have an awesome Mario Day this Mar 10.
