Unsolved Mystery: Louisiana Man’s Disappearance Baffles Family
It's been a month since anyone in Pierce Pitre's family had contact with him. The man's car was found on a road in Swords with his keys and wallet still inside. What has happened to the Carencro man is unknown, but his family continues their search to find their loved one according to KLFY.
The man was walking down L'Anse Bourbeuse Road which is right next to the St. Landry-Evangeline parish line.
Family and friends went on another search recently to see if they could find anything else in the area surrounding where Pitre's car was found. His family says the 31-year-old man ran out of gas on a roadway in Swords. His sister Gabrielle says that's the last time she spoke to him was that day when he told her about running out of gas.
Gabrielle says her brother ask her to come get in, but because she was just starting a new job she says she was unable to that. She says once she spoke to him that time it was the final time, and then his phone died.
Pitre has said,
It's not like him not to get in touch with us for this long at all. He has a son that he loves very much. He loves his family a lot. It is just not like him.
The case was initially being handled by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office but is now being handled by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office. Officials are asking anyone who might know something to call them at 337-363-2161.
Another missing person case that we are watching is the case of KeKe Doucet who was last seen in June in Evangeline Parish.
There is no known indication that there is a connection between the two cases, but there have been two disappearances in Evangeline Parish in three months.
Subsequently, the Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office arrested Jerry Verrette on a charge of solicitation of prostitution. The Ville Platte Police arrested the man after they executed a search warrant in his home.
Doucet has still not been found. On June 15, KeKe was leaving her home on West Live Oak Road. KATC reported her phone pinged at Romero Hargrave City Park, but then the phone was off.
Doucet is described as about 5 feet 4 inches tall, about 140 pounds. When she was last seen, she was wearing a colorful bonnet, black shorts with a colorful print, and a raspberry-colored shirt.
If you know of the whereabouts of Keabreonna "KeKe" Doucet you are asked to call the Ville Platte Police at 337-363-1313.
A missing persons report was filled with the VPPD on June 16 after she failed to show up to bring her daughter to a sporting event the day prior.
