Forbes Ranks Louisiana’s Top Employers, And Healthcare Leads The Way

(KMDL-FM) Unless you have some inside information from the Louisiana Lottery, there is a pretty good chance you're getting up and going to work today. Have you ever wondered how your workplace compares to other workplaces in Louisiana? And if you could switch jobs, how could you determine which employers are the best employers in the state?

Forbes Magazine and the website associated with that iconic financial periodical offer every year a listing of the Best Employers in the United States. The list is broken down by state so you can peruse not only Louisiana opportunities but opportunities in neighboring states and around the country.

How Were The Best Employer in Louisiana Selections Made?

Forbes partnered with Statista to survey almost a quarter of a million workers who work for a company of at least 500 people within the United States. Those respondents were asked how likely they would be to recommend their employer on a scale of zero to ten.

They were also asked to assess their workplace using criteria such as salary, benefits, management style, the reputation of the company, how flexible the company is, and what opportunities for advancement within the company were available.

The companies that earned the highest score once the data had been assimilated were included on the list that Forbes has published on its website.

What Kind of Companies Made the Forbes Best Employer List in Louisiana?

For our purposes, we are looking specifically at Louisiana-based employers. It is interesting to note that, of the Top 10 Employers in Louisiana, at least according to Forbes, the vast majority of them were in the medical field. The top spot was actually in the hospitality and food service industry, and the other outlier was in education.
