Youngsville Favorite KK’s Cafe Expanding To Carencro With Second Location
One of Youngsville's favorite family restaurants is getting ready to serve a new corner of Acadiana.
KK's Cafe will open a second location in Carencro, taking over the former Pizza Amore space located at 3730 NE Evangeline Thruway, Suite F, just off Interstate 49. The move comes only weeks after Pizza Amore announced it would be closing its doors, creating an opportunity for another local favorite to step in.
According to reporting from Adam Daigle with the Acadiana Advocate, owners Lee and Wendy Oubre recently signed a lease for the location and are hoping to complete renovations and open the restaurant before August 1.
KK's Cafe Sees Growth Opportunity In Carencro
The Oubres purchased KK's Cafe's Youngsville location on Savoy Road seven years ago and have steadily built a loyal following across Acadiana.
Lee Oubre says many of those customers already make the drive from Carencro to Youngsville, making the expansion feel like a natural next step.
The family also believes Carencro's rapid residential and commercial growth makes now the right time to expand while still maintaining enough distance between the two restaurants to avoid competing with their original location.
"We know Carencro is growing," Oubre told the Acadiana Advocate. "We have a good product, and we're more than sure we can make this work. We're ready for a second location."
Homemade Meals And Cheesecake Favorites Coming North
KK's Cafe has built its reputation around made-from-scratch meals served throughout breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The restaurant is especially known for its homemade cheesecakes, which come in 15 different flavors, along with its Sunday barbecue offerings that operate under a simple rule: when it's gone, it's gone.
The restaurant also maintains a family-oriented atmosphere that reflects the values of its owners. KK's Cafe does not serve alcohol and is known for playing Christian music throughout the restaurant.

Another Sign Of Carencro's Continued Growth
The announcement is another example of Carencro's continued expansion as more businesses move into the area surrounding Interstate 49 and the NE Evangeline Thruway corridor.
For residents disappointed by the recent closure of Pizza Amore, the building will not stay empty for long.
If construction and preparations stay on schedule, Carencro customers could be enjoying KK's signature comfort food and cheesecake offerings in their hometown before summer comes to an end.
