Thousands of Kia Vehicles Sold in Louisiana, Texas Recalled Due to Major Safety Hazard

What Kia Model is Being Recalled in Louisiana?

All Telluride models manufactured between 2020 and 2023, and some 2024 models.

According to the NHTSA the issue revolves around "the connection between metal shafts linking the engine and transmission to the wheels." Over time this damage causes the vehicle to move unexpectedly when in park unless the emergency break is in use. The NHTSA is warning owners of these vehicles to listen for a grinding noise.

If someone owns an affected Telluride owners are urged to bring their vehicles to Kia dealerships. Kia ensures that the electronic parking brake software will be updated at no cost to the customer. The company has promised owners that they will be reimbursed for any necessary repairs related to the recall.

This recall adds to the ongoing issues Kia has been dealing with this year. They made an announcement charging units in tens of thousands of vehicles were defective.
