
Juvenile Arrested in Connection with Bomb Threat at New Iberia School
The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following a bomb threat at Westgate High School yesterday (Oct. 1). A juvenile suspect has been identified and is now facing charges related to the incident, according to a statement from law enforcement officials.
The suspect, whose identity has not been released due to their age, was charged under Louisiana Revised Statute 14:40.1 for terrorizing. Following their arrest, the juvenile was issued a summons and released into the custody of their parents.
The investigation into the bomb threat was comprehensive, with the administration at Westgate High School playing a crucial role in aiding authorities. Their swift response and collaboration with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office were key factors in identifying the suspect and ensuring the safety of students and staff.
