Kaplan Man Pleads Guilty To Being A Convicted Felon In Possession Of A Gun
A Kaplan man, who was previously convicted on felony charges, has pleaded guilty to a count of possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.
Police arrested 33-year-old Micah J. Guillot of Kaplan during a traffic stop on Bertrand drive back in March of 2015.
The officer making the stop says the convicted felon came out of the car wearing a bulletproof vest.
This prompted a search of Guillot's car with turned up guns and ammunition.
Police found the following in his car:
One handgun
A shotgun
Ammunition for the shotgun
Ammunition for the .38 caliber gun
The court has yet to set a sentencing date, but Guillot is facing up to a decade behind bars along with probation and a $250,000 fine.
