A woman traveling alone has to be alert, and aware of her surroundings at all times. you’ve probably heard stories of women being pulled over by men posing as police officers. Such an incident took place earlier this month on the Bonne Carre Spillway outside New Orleans.

WWL reports a man driving a black Dodge Charger, and wearing a dark blue uniform pulled a woman over, and said he stopped her for speeding. The impersonator then told the woman he smelled marijuana and began searching her car. When the woman raised suspicion, the fake police officer got in his car and left.

There have been similar reports around the bayou state in recent weeks. Here are some tips from law-enforcement... Slow down, and pull into the right lane. Turn your emergency flashers on. That way, the pursuing vehicle knows you see them.  Call 911 and give the dispatcher your location. They will be able to tell you if the pursuing vehicle is legitimate or not. look for a well lit public area where people are present to pull over. That way, you’ll be in the presence of witnesses, and probably security cameras.
