Lafayette Airport Picks The “Journey” Design
The new terminal at the Lafayette Regional Airport will feature a design that got a 4.18 rating out of five from some 5,110 members of the community who gave their opinion.
The Airport Commission took the public's opinions into consideration, and they voted last night to pick RS&H Designer Frank Gratton's "Journey" design.
The other design, "Spirit", only received a 3.22 rating out of five.
Lafayette Airport Commission Chairwoman Valerie Garrett says,
“The Lafayette Airport Commission is overwhelmed by the level of community response to our request for ratings on the proposed terminal designs. Our airport is the first and last impression many visitors have of Lafayette. Our architects, led by RS&H, provided two options that meet the requirements of a functional airport operation that addresses the needs of travelers and went beyond that to also capture the spirit of our culture in their designs. We believe the New LFT Terminal will be a symbol of which our community can take great pride.
