It's been a busy couple weeks for Lafayette Mayor Josh Guillory. The city has endured several nights of protest in response to the shooting death of Trayford Pellerin at the hands of Lafayette Police officers. That shooting is under investigation by Louisiana State Police, but that has not stopped crowds from taking to the streets demanding justice. Since then, Hurricane Laura made landfall to our west and put Lafayette right in the middle of a debate over sheltering. Guillory called into the weekly Lafayette Live! segment on Thursday as he has since taking office.

The phone lines are open every single week at 337-232-1542.

You can listen to Mayor-President Guillory's comments from Acadiana's Morning News on Thursday, September 3rd below.

Segment 1: Hurricane Laura and the Shelter Debate

Segment 2: What's the next step for protests in Lafayette?

Segment 3: More on the protests and questions/comments from callers.
