Lafayette Louisiana Man Charged with Child Porn and Animal Sex Crimes

Louisiana State Attorney Liz Murrill's Cyber Crime Unit has announced a Lafayette man has been arrested on multiple counts of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13 and multiple counts of animal sexual abuse.

According to the AG's office officials in St. Landry Parish arrested 54-year-old Shannon Paul Bellard, who has a Robley Street address in Lafayette, was arrested in St. Landry Parish on the following charges:

8 Counts of Pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13. The statute is LA RS 14:81. These charges are in St. Landry Parish.

15 Counts of Sexual Abuse of an Animal. The statute is LA RS 14:89.3. These charges are in St. Landry Parish.

2 Counts of Pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13. The statute is LA RS 14:81. These charges are in Lafayette Parish. 

Bellard was arrested and booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on Tuesday, May 28. He will be extradited to Lafayette Parish for charges from that jurisdiction.

This is an ongoing investigation according to Murrrill's office.

Last month, officials with Murrill's Cyber Crimes Unit announced that they arrested a 20-year-old Sorrento man on similar charges.

Officials say a tip was given to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the investigation commenced.

Jayden McConnell of Hackberry Street was arrested for the following:
