A Lafayette police officer is appealing his termination after he was fired for pushing and punching a handcuffed man at the jail.

According to The Daily Advertiser, Pablo Estrada was terminated by Lafayette Police Chief Thomas Glover Sr. but will appeal his termination with the Lafayette Fire and Police Civil Service Board.

Estrada's attorney Allyson Prejean argues that his termination was "without cause and in bad faith."
