Lafayette Police Investigate Early Sunday Jefferson Street Shooting

Lafayette City Police patrolling downtown Lafayette at approximately 1:30 Sunday morning heard a gun shot apparently inside a business at 314 Jefferson Street.  Officers entered the building and found a person with a gunshot wound to the back.  The victim was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.  Anyone knowing the identity of the shooter is asked to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
