LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Lafayette police detectives arrested a 24-year-old man suspected in a May 2015 cold case homicide and an unrelated shooting three days earlier.

Cpl. Paul Mouton, public information officer with the Lafayette Police Department, said in a news release David Anderson, of Lafayette, was arrested Tuesday and faces charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.

Mouton says Anderson is suspected on May 5, 2015, of shooting an individual in the stomach during an alleged robbery.

Mouton says Anderson is suspected in the May 8, 2015, shooting death of 32-year-old Aaron Brooks Jr., of Lafayette.

Anderson was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. A $500,000 bond was set on the attempted murder charge. No bond is set in the first-degree murder charge.
