Lafayette Teenager Dies From Shooting
An accident happened Sunday night in the 100 block of South June Drive, and now a 16-year-old teen is dead.
Lafayette Police Spokeswoman Bridgette Dugas says that when officers got to the scene the other they discovered another teenager, a 17-year-old accidentally discharge the gun.
Now with the girl's death, the 17-year-old's charges have been upgraded to Negligent Homicide.
The young girl was pronounced dead at a local hospital yesterday.
The young man is still in the custody of officials at Lafayette's Juvenile Detention Facility.
