UPDATE (Monday, May 3): 19-year-old Nakia Solomon of Breaux Bridge has been identified as the victim who died. Lafayette Police spokesperson Senior Cpl. Bridgette Dugas says Solomon was shot multiple times.

There is no information yet on a suspect and there have been no arrests at this time. If you have any information, please call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.

This is one of three shootings that happened in Lafayette on Sunday. Cpl. Dugas says they are all isolated.

ORIGINAL STORY (Sunday, May 2): A man is dead after there was a shooting in the 100 block of Ambroise Street in Lafayette around 1:30 Sunday afternoon.

Corporal Bridgette Dugas with the Lafayette Police Department tells KPEL News there is no information about a suspect at this time, but detectives are investigating this shooting.

The victim, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, was taken to a local hospital but later died from his wounds.
