Lafayette Walgreens Store Announces Permanent Closure, Final Date Revealed
LAFAYETTE, La. – A Walgreens store that has long served residents in north Lafayette and parts of Carencro has announced it will close its doors permanently on March 20, 2025. The store is located at 3747 Moss Street, on the southwest corner of Moss Street and Pont des Mouton Road.
The announcement was shared via text message with some Walgreens customers, stating:
“The Walgreens at 3747 MOSS ST, LAFAYETTE will permanently close on 03/20/2025. It will be operating as usual until then. Our other pharmacies are ready to help you, including nearby at 920 W GLORIA SWITCH RD, LAFAYETTE. For more info about how this closure affects your prescriptions, please visit wlgrn.com/SUSDRN.”
Until its closure, the store will maintain its regular operating hours of 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., while the pharmacy will remain open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The store will continue offering curbside, drive-thru, and in-store pickup services during this period.
The Moss Street Walgreens has been a go-to pharmacy for many in Northside and Upper Lafayette, particularly those who rely on its prescription services. While a CVS Pharmacy is located across the street, some customers will need to transfer their prescriptions to another Walgreens or a different pharmacy. Walgreens has directed affected customers to visit their official website for details on how the closure may impact their prescriptions.
For those needing to transfer to another Walgreens, the closest alternative location for many affected customers is at 920 W Gloria Switch Road in Lafayette but be sure to check the website as the next closest Walgreens for some may be at a different location.
