LCG Councilwoman Nanette Cook Addresses Concerns Of New Liquor Ordinance – Lafayette Live
A new liquor ordinance was approved Tuesday night in a 7-1 vote of the Lafayette City-Parish Council. With that comes some concerns, even as the Council says they passed this ordinance to address safety concerns in Lafayette.
In this edition of "Lafayette Live," Rob Kirkpatrick and Bernadette Lee continued the discussion from Tuesday's 5 PM hour of "Offsides" with Brandon Comeaux and Shannon Wilkerson about how much power the ordinance grants to the police chief. Councilwoman Cook addresses why they gave the police chief the power to be able to shut down a business it deems unsafe and how it compares with the powers of the fire chief.
