LIVE: Protesters Interrupt Guillory Town Hall Event

A town hall event scheduled by Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory has been taken over by protesters. Demonstrators appear to be protesting the decision to close 4 rec centers on the north side of Lafayette. They chanted various things from "no justice, no peace" and "save the northside". Guillory, who was joined at a table by Communication Director Jamie Angelle with interim Lafayette Police Chief Scott Morgan nearby.

When the event finally got underway around 12:25 pm, Guillory supported their right to protest but said this is not the way he would choose to communicate.
