Don Briggs Back As LOGA President After Serious Head Injury (UPDATED)

UPDATE: Five and a half months after a fall gave him a serious head injury, the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association announces Don Briggs is returning to his role as President. His son, Vice-President Gifford Briggs, stepped into the top role while his father recovered.

The announcement was made Monday morning on LOGA's Facebook page.

Louisiana Oil & Gas Association (LOGA) President Don Briggs is in the hospital in North Carolina following a fall during a trip there.

"Shortly after lunch on Friday, September 30th, while preparing the house for guests, Don slipped in the stairway sustaining a serious head injury," according to a statement from LOGA. "Don was immediately airlifted to Mission Health Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, where he is currently being treated."

Physicians are waiting for his condition to stabilize in order to determine the next steps of action.
