Law enforcement officials in Louisiana were on hand Friday morning after a cyberstalking suspect in Lafayette Parish was involved in a standoff with deputies in the 500 block of Crawford Street.

According to the arrest report from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, eventually, deputies were able to take 39-year-old Edosa Ogbebor into custody after trying to serve him with an arrest warrant.

According to a KLFY report, Ogbebor would not surrender when deputies came to the door to serve him with the arrest warrant.

That was when officials with the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office deployed the resources of the SWAT team. According to Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office spokesman Staff Sergeant Chris Cormier, the man was not coming out of the home, which means the SWAT members went into the man's home.

Cormier said,

We attempted negotiations, and after that failed, our SWAT team made a forced entry and made a peaceful arrest.

As they made their way into the home by force in the 500 block of Crawford Street, Ogbebor was then taken into handcuffs, which ended up being a peaceful arrest.

Ogbebor is facing the following charges:

Misdemeanor Cyber Stalking

Resisting an Officer
