A Lafayette Parish man has been arrested in Louisiana on charges related to allegations of sexual assault of a minor. Christopher Cormier, Public Information Officer with the Public Affairs Division of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office, says the arrest was made following the issuance of a search warrant.

Cornier says an investigation by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office Juvenile Detectives led to an arrest warrant for 22-year-old Johnathon Richard. The Broussard man was arrested on the afternoon of Thursday, February 6.

What Charges Is The Man Facing?

According to Cormier, Richard was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:

  • Sexual Assault
  • Computer Aid Solicitation of a Minor

Cormier says the Lafayette Sheriff's Juvenile Detectives, with the help of the SWAT team, executed an arrest warrant on Richard.

According to officials there will be no other details released at this time, but they are continuing to investigate this case.
