Louisiana Haz-Mat And Fire Officials Says Fire Contained At A Gas Plant In Krotz Springs

St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Captain Megan Vizena tells NewsTalk 96.5 KPEL that they along with local firefighters and Louisiana State Police were on the scene of a fire at the old Valero gasoline plant on highway 105 in Krotz Springs.

Vizena says there are no injuries to report and firefighters have the fire contained now.  All employees have been moved out of the facility for safety reasons.

Louisiana State Police Troop I Spokesman Stephen Hammons says they are asking people in that area to avoid Highway 105, or the Old Levee Road, as they continue to work at the scene.
