Louisiana Physician Arrested After Cutting Off Sister’s Ankle Monitor
Louisiana people are known to be incredibly loyal to their family, blood or not. It doesn't matter if you are from Mamou, Lake Charles, Crowley, or Hammond; Louisiana folks will ride at dawn for their loved ones, even if that means risking their own lives to protect them.

A local physician's actions to "help" his sister are a prime example of the lengths some Louisiana folks will go to for their family members if they find themselves in trouble.
Unfortunately, we aren't just talking about a little bit of car trouble or a flat tire.
Louisiana Physician Arrested After Cutting Off Sister’s Ankle Monitor
Dr. Kerry Sterling offered his sister, Kyana Traylor, more than just medical help when she was recently released on bond after posting her $650,000 bail.
Traylor was charged with manslaughter in connection to the death of her boyfriend's special needs brother in 2023, according to Fox 8. Sterling has allegedly made two attempts to remove his sister's ankle monitor, the first being at University Medical Center on March 10th, where he posed as a Doctor for UMC New Orleans and tried to get the monitor off of his sister's ankle, the Assured Supervision Accountability Program reported.
ASAP, the program responsible for monitoring the ankle monitor's activity, caught Sterling making a second attempt to remove it on March 11th at the corner of Dauphine Street and Poland Avenue.
Legal analyst Joe Raspanti says that if Sterling actually is a medical professional, he just put his license in jeopardy and could face a penalty of up to five years for tampering with the monitor.
The co-founder of ASAP told Fox 8 that Sterling was arrested in Tallulah and is currently being held at the Madison Parish Jail. Sterling will be transported to Jefferson Parish where he will be booked with 'accessory after the fact to manslaughter and tampering with electronic monitoring equipment'.
It is possible that these charges could affect Sterling's medical license but those details have not been confirmed.
