Louisiana Victim’s Family Opens GoFundMe for Daughter Left Behind after Bourbon Street Attack
Fourteen innocent lives were lost in New Orleans on New Year's Day when a terrorist sped down Bourbon Street intent on killing people, and one of those victims left behind a daughter. Elliot Wilkinson's family has started a GoFundMe account to benefit the man's daughter.
The child's mother, Amanda Comeaux, started the fund to help support her child throughout the little girl's life. Comeaux says on GoFundMe,
Orleans Parish Coroner's Office on January 2The funds are going to be used for his daughter to provide support for school, housing, and any other expenses she may incur later in life. The funds will be directly deposited into her bank account.
Comeaux says that Wilkinson lived in Covington before transferring to New Orleans. She says it was a city he adored. He says the family and friends that are left behind after Elliot's death want everyone to know how much he was loved. She added on the page for the GoFundMe account,
.....he was loved by many he left behind that continue to keep his candle lit on Bourbon. There is also a personal vigil for him on Esplanade.
Amanda shared with us that he was a loving person who just wanted the best for his 13-year-old daughter, Nova. Amanda also says she wants those impacted to know, "my heart still goes out to the other families that lost someone and to those that were injured."
She says when it comes to Elliot,
Although we haven't been together for many years I will always remember his smile and his compassion for taking care of his daughter. He will always hold a very special place in my heart.

The New Orleans officers who returned fire and killed Jabbar were Nigel Daggs, Christian Byer, and Jacobie Jordan, according to New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick.
