Man Alleged To Have Killed Father

Lafayette Police alleged that an incident of domestic violence Joy Street led to the death of a man's father.

Corporal Bridgette Dugas says that police were called out to the 200 block of Joy Street at around 5:20 yesterday afternoon to find a man dead from head trauma.

Police allege that 23-year-old Willie James Earl Thomas Jr. killed 57-year-old Willie James Earl Thomas Sr.

Officers say Thomas Jr. was taken into custody after a traffic crash in St. Mary Parish.

Dugas says that the Thomas Jr. will be arrested on second degree murder charges once he is released from the hospital for treatment due to his crash.
