Man Gets Nine Year Sentence For Prositution Case
A man from Houston is getting nine years behind bars for what prosecutors say was a case dealing with prostitution, online ads and hotels.
A federal judge has given 30-year-old Jerald Bland the nine year sentence following his appearance yesterday in court. Back in the first part of 2012 Bland pleaded guilty to the charge of transportation of a woman for commercial sex.
Prosecutors in Bland's case say he took a woman to Beaumont and to cities in Louisiana. By using online advertising, prosecutors say Bland took the woman to Lafayette, Lake Charles, New Orleans and Baton Rouge for prostitution.
Part of the proof against Bland investigators say are the many hotel employees that recognized Bland and the woman as staying at their hotels. Prosecutors says the woman earned, and all the money she made was kept by Bland.
