Man Indicted In 2001 Lafayette Murder Case
Turns out the original person of interest may have been the person responsible for an Independence Day murder nearly 16 years ago.
Lafayette Police Corporal Karl Ratcliff says Michael Carpenter has been indicted by a grand jury for the 2001 murder of Earl Joseph Narcisse Jr. in the 200 block of Helen Street. Lafayette Police re-opened the case case file in November 2016 and revisited evidence against Carpenter, who was the original person of interest.
The evidence was presented to the District Attorney and now Carpenter finds himself indicted on the charge of First Degree Murder.
