Man Receives Child Pornography From Louisiana; He Will Go To Prison

A Tennessee man who received child pornography from Louisiana, and then traveled to our state to have sex with a 15-year-old female will be going to prison for eight years.

Federal prosecutors say that 28-year-old Duston Ray Spears Sr. of Athens, Tennessee starting talking to a girl online in June of last year.

At some point, the man came to Louisiana, and he had sex with the girl. Once the girl's sister found out, she reported Spears to police.

Police say they found sexually explicit images of the girl on the man's phone, thus the prison sentence.

When he is released from jail, he will be on supervised release for 10 years.

Spears will also have to register as a sex offender once he completes his jail time.
