Man Sues Another Guy For Affair with His Wife, Wins $8.8 million
Extramarital affairs are a recipe for trouble, especially in North Carolina. The Tar Heel state allows people to sue for alienation of affection when a spouse is unfaithful.
The Durhan News & Observer reports Keith King did exactly that. He sued Francisco Huizar III for having an affair with his wife, thus ruining his life and causing PTSD. A Durham County court ruled in King's favor, ordering Huizar to pay $2.2 million in compensatory damages and $6.6 million in punitive damages.
The civil complaint charged Huizar with criminal conversation, alienation of affection, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress and assault and battery.
I don't recommend fooling around with married women in the first place.
