Whether you're buying drinks in a bar in Dallas. Or paying for a meal in Lewisville, Tyler, Lufkin, or Denton sometimes splitting the bill can be the most painful thing you'll do in your day. That becomes especially painful when you don't carry a lot of cash and there isn't an ATM close by.

The more our society moves toward being "cashless" the more the need to have at least "some cash" or access to cash seems necessary. Fortunately, we live in a time of technological advances that make having actual "dead Presidents" in your wallet not as necessary as it might have been just five or seven years ago.

As a matter of fact, an app designed to eliminate the need for folks like you and me to carry cash was founded in 2013 and some 53 million Americans use that app every year. Are you familiar with Cash App?

Cash App allows you to transfer funds from peer to peer. This way when you buy a drink in Dallas or split a meal at Sneaky Pete's on Lake Lewisville there's no digging in your purse or pockets for exact change or a spare buck or two. You simply "Cash App" the appropriate funds or have your companions "Cash App" the money to you, depending on who is paying the full amount.

While the convenience of Cash App can't be disputed there have been questions raised about the security of the platform. That's why Cash App has agreed to a settlement that affected some 8.2 million users across the world.

The settlement stemmed from a lawsuit filed against Cash App for a security breach in which sensitive and important financial information about some users may have been leaked.

Cash App agreed to the terms of a settlement in this dispute but admitted no wrongdoing. Now, the deadline for you to make a claim in that settlement is fast approaching. In fact, that deadline is November 18, 2024, which is less than one week away from today.

If you feel you have a claim in the case,  you just might if you used Cash App between August 23, 2018, and August 20, 2024, you need to act fast. You can use this link to see if you qualify for up to $2,500 in restitution.
