Maness Pledges Support For Cassidy In U.S. Senate Runoff Election
Former U.S. Air Force Col. Rob Maness is urging the more than 200,000 Louisiana residents who voted for him the Nov. 4 U.S. Senate election to vote for U.S. Rep. Bill Cassidy in the Dec. 6 runoff.
Maness pledged to "hit the road hard for Dr. Cassidy these next 26 days to make sure we finally bring Mary Landrieu home."
At what was dubbed a unity rally yesterday in Baton Rouge, Cassidy also received praise from Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul. Paul is widely expected to make a run for the White House in 2016.
The rally came a day after the campaign for incumbent Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu released an ad questioning Cassidy's ability to lead and which featured Cassidy stumbling over his words during a speech in May. Conservatives across the state called the ad an act of desperation on the part of Landrieu.
She and Cassidy were the two top vote-getters last Tuesday.
