Lafayette firefighters are still investigating a mobile home fire that took the life of a Lafayette woman.

Lafayette Fire Department Spokesman Alton Trahan says that 54-year-old Rosalind B. Mitchell was found in the mobile home after the fire was put out.

The woman lived with a relative and a male friend, neither of who were home at the time of the blaze.

Neighbors reported the blaze to firefighters at around 3 o'clock Sunday morning, and it took about 30 minutes to get the fire under control.

Firefighters know the fire started in the living room/kitchen area of the mobile home.

The Lafayette Parish Coroner's Office is working to determine Mitchell's cause of death.

The fire was in the mobile home located at 342 Queens Row, Lot 350.
