Morse Elementary On Lockdown

Officials with law enforcement in Acadia Parish say that Morse Elementary has been put on lockdown as a precaution.

There is no situation at the school.

There is a situation, though, near the school.

Officials tell KPEL that the Morse Police Department is currently dealing with a man across the street from the elementary school, so out of an abundance of caution, they have put the school on lockdown.

Police department officials are dealing with a situation in connection with this man, but they do say they are in communication with the man.
