SAN MARCOS, Calif. (AP) — Fire officials say the most destructive of Southern California's recent wildfires is about 90 percent contained, and it should be fully contained by Thursday.

The wildfire in San Marcos destroyed 36 homes, and was only about a dozen wildfires in San Diego County since last Tuesday.

In all, some 44 homes and an apartment building were lost in the county.
