National Police Week To Celebrate & Honor Slain Officers
The Acadiana regiion will come together next week to remember 22 Fallen Officers as National Police Week ceremonies will be held in Lafayette.
National Police Week is happening May 12th through May 18th. The Lafayette Police Department will host the annual Police Memorial service on May 16th at 6:00 p.m. At St. Barnabas Church on 400 Camellia Boulevard. A motorcade will begin at 5:30 p.m. It will start from the Lafayette Police Department main station on 900 E. University Avenue, then proceed to the church.
Of the 22 officers killed in the line of duty, 6 of them were from the Lafayette Police Department.
