New Iberia Man Arrested In Scott

Officers with the Scott Police Department arrested a New Iberia man for allegedly stealing a tool box.

Chief Chad Leger says a man matching the description of 24-year Marcus Joseph Johhson was seen allegedly making off with the equipment.

A neighbor who lives on Rice Circle called police to say the suspect was stealing the toolbox and was seen walking off of the property.

A police officer stopped a vehicle with Johnson inside, and the officer says he found the stolen toolbox in his car.

Johnson was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center
