New Iberia Parent Arrested In Cruelty To Juvenile Case

Yesterday afternoon, Iberia Parish Sheriff's deputies were called out to investigate a complaint at a home on Mixon Road in New Iberia.

The 12-year-old victim reported an incident to a family member who then notified police.

Investigators determined that 35-year-old Erica Marie Walker allegedly struck the child multiple times in the head.

Walker has been booked on a charge of cruelty to a juvenile.
