Man Found Dead On Railroad Tracks

A man was found dead at a railroad track in between Scott and Duson.

Kip Judice at the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says it may be related to a stabbing suspect, identified as 29-year-old Gregory William Redondo, Jr., on the run from the Rayne Police Department, but they have not confirmed it yet.

Rayne Police and the Sheriff's Office were looking for Redondo, who's accused of stabbing a woman 3 times this morning in Rayne. She's in stable condition in a Crowley Hospital.

Authorities found the Redondo's car crashed into a telephone pole on Jenkins road, but he was not there. Within 30 minutes of the crash, they got a report of someone walking on the railroad tracks. When they went to investigate, the man on the tracks walked into the path of a train.

Judice says they are waiting identification to determine if the dead man is the stabbing suspect Redondo.
