BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A Ponchatoula man is Louisiana's newest million dollar winner.

The Louisiana Lottery Corporation says 65-year-old Wendell Stanga was in disbelief when he checked the numbers on his Louisiana Lotto ticket after the Aug. 20 drawing and saw that he won the $1.1 million prize.

He says he had to check it a few times to make sure he was actually seeing what he was seeing. His ticket matched all six numbers to win the $1,126,155 prize which he claimed Thursday. The winning numbers were: 3, 11, 16, 21, 31 and 32.

Stanga received $788,308.50 after state and federal tax withholdings.

The winning ticket was sold at Town Crier #4 on Pine Street in Ponchatoula. The store received a one-time selling bonus of $11,261.55 which is 1 percent of the prize.
