Port Barre Man Dies In Crash

A St. Landry Parish man was killed in a three car crash on US Highway 190 at its intersection with Louisiana Highway 743.

State Police Spokesman Trooper Thomas Gossen says that 28-year-old Kyle Savoy was driving southbound on Highway 743, but for unknown reasons, he drove into the eastbound lanes of Highway 190.

Savoy's vehilce hit two others.

The victim was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene.The drivers of the other two cars were both buckled up, and they received only minor injuries.

Gossen says routine toxicology tests are pending in reference to the crash.

This crash happened around 10:30 Tuesday night.
