The proposed extension of Curran Lane in Lafayette has residents of the Orgeron Heights and Bell Heights neighborhoods worried about traffic. The undeveloped land, which sits across the street from Walmart on Ambassador Caffery Parkway, could soon be home to a new road that would be connected to Orgeron Drive. Opponents of the plan say the new road, which would essentially create a shortcut between Ambassador Caffery and West Congress, will add to the congestion they already have to deal with.

This morning on Lafayette Live, Mayor-President Josh Guillory addressed the concerns and said the planning and zoning department will hear residents' concerns.
