Questions About Marcus Bruno’s Loans Persist
The online publication The Current reports that a federal loan to Marcus Bruno, an assistant to Mayor-President Joel Robideaux, will likely be declared in default.
Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Community Development Department conducted an internal review of the loan and determined it doesn’t comply with federal requirements.
The review recommends that the LCG board that issued the loan either modify the paperwork, call in the loan, or pursue legal action.
Bruno’s company lists “partners” on its websites, but the companies deny working with Bruno on any projects to assist persons in need, the focus of Bruno’s company.
The LCG Legal Department requested earlier this year that HUD and the State Board of Ethics review the case to determine if any conflicts of interest exist.
