Names Released Of Victims In Fatal Hit & Run Crash (UPDATED)

UPDATE: 42-year-old Rocky Paul Richard of Arnaudville has been identified as the man killed in the crash. 35-year-old Christopher Melancon of Duson is listed in stable condition.

23-year-old Andrew Hoskin of Rayne has been arrested after an alleged hit & run crash took the life of one person and left another in the hospital with serious injuries.

The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office says the incident happened around 2:00 a.m. Friday morning in the 6600 block of Standard Mill Road.

Investigators say the two victims were riding bicycles when they were struck by a vehicle. Authorities say evidence led them to identify Hoskin as the suspect.

Hoskin is currently being booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on the following charges:

• 1 count of Vehicular Homicide

• Vehicular Negligent Injury

• Hit & Run

Toxicology reports are pending in this investigation.
