The Rayne Police Department has a arrested a 33-year-old Baton Rouge man following an undercover drug operation.

Officials with the Rayne Police Department say Joseph Chambers was arrested Tuesday evening because of their investigation.

 

They say Chambers had over 100 MDMA tablets which is referred to as Ecstasy. Police also recovered 62 grams of marijuana.

Chambers is also facing charges because he has had numerous prior charges including a felony which brought about a charge of Felon in possession of a firearm after they found a loaded pistol.

The man was arrested on the following charges:

  • Distribution of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (MDMA)
  • Possession of Marijuana with intent to Distribute
  • Aggravated Assault with a Firearm upon a peace officer
  • Resisting an Officer
  • Possession of a Firearm during a drug transaction
  • Felon in possession of a firearm
