“The Lafayette Food Junkie Show,” which airs from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday nights here on Newstalk 96.5 KPEL, gives Lafayette and the Acadiana area its own show dedicated to the food we all love to enjoy and talk about!

On Sunday’s show, Tiffiany Decou, “The Lafayette Food Junkie,” and Chef Zach Doise with “LaStreat” food truck touched on numerous topics on the show, including how to cook a steak, Social Southern Table & Bar starting a farmer's market from 3-7 PM on Tuesdays in front of the restaurant and a discussion on the Chef's Menu vs. the Restaurant Menu - the difference between "being wowed" and going to a restaurant for something new and going to a restaurant for the same foods that have been done right for decades.

They also spoke about the best side dishes for your Fourth of July BBQ, including grilled potato salad, asparagus and green beans and what foods go into the perfect Fourth of July meal.

Tiffiany also highlighted restaurants that will be open on the Fourth of July, in case you don't feel like grilling:

  • Little Big Cup in Arnaudville
  • Don's in Downtown Lafayette
  • Twins
  • Fat Pat's
  • Saints Street Inn
  • La Pizzeria
  • ViLLage Cafe

Tiffiany's Eat Lafayette Restaurant of the Week is Deano's South on Kaliste Saloom Road. Their Eat Lafayette special is 10" pizza specialty or design your own, choice of 1 of 3 appetizers, and 2 soft drinks for $23.99.
