Robideaux Names Benoit As Confidential Assistant

Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux has completed filling his administration as he names Robert Benoit as confidential assistant.

Benoit worked for 28 years for Lafayette Consolidated Government as director of Public Works and director of the Planning and Zoning Commission. He has most recently served as Chief of Staff for the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources.

“I am thrilled that Robert Benoit has agreed to join my administration," Robideaux said via a press release. 'He brings incomparable knowledge of local and state government to the position and will be an important part of making LCG more responsive to the needs and concerns of local businesses and stakeholders.”

In Benoit's new position, he will primarily be supporting and facilitating the work of departmental directors and working with the City-Parish Council  in complex constituent matters.
