This week on "Wingin' It Wednesday", panelist Carol Ross, Mike Stagg, and Warren Caudle joined "Nathan and Bernie in the Morning" to discuss the results of the midterm elections as well as the CIA torture report.

1. Your thoughts on the runoffs: Bill Cassidy defeats Mary Landrieu, Brian Pope defeats Kip Judice, airport tax overwhelmingly approved, and other races and/or items.

Warren Caudle started us off:

I wasn’t surprised by any of them. I’m not sad that Mary Landrieu is leaving, I’m just sad that Bill Cassidy is taking her place. I thought all along that Pope would win. I thought the airport tax had a good chance of going through.

Mike Stagg posited:

I don’t think there were any surprises Saturday. The Landrieu campaign was wrong from the start. The Landrieu campaign knew what was coming and didn’t take the steps to fight it. They got what they deserved.

Carol Ross added:

It was a superb get out the vote effort. Cassidy stayed on message. Mary Landrieu votes with Obama. Mary Landrieu hurt herself. Her campaign was so lackluster.
About the airport tax, it should be a lesson to government. It was very specific and time limited.

2. CIA torture report. Your thoughts?

Mike started us off:

The dirty little secret is the only people this was a secret for was the American people. This will go down as a dark period in history. We violated international norms. The people who did this were never held accountable. We’ve done more to harm our own reputation than anyone has done to us.

Warren posited:

I’ve got a lot of mixed emotions on all of this stuff. We are losing our sense of right and wrong. We sit there and holler about the people beheading folks and that’s gruesome and inhumane, but is that anymore inhumane than sending cruise missiles at people’s homes? And all that turmoil in the Middle East, a great amount of it can be traced back to our foreign policy. There’s so much blame to go around. The administration releasing this in the way they did, that’s not right either.

Carol concluded:

Following 9/11 both Democrats and Republicans were in support of any means necessary. What could possibly be behind the timing of the issuing of this report. In my mind it’s revenge.
About the president pushing for this, he always like’s to have it both ways.
